But then again, those sardine can maps only allow for that many. Snore.Parachuting out of a helo. Joint Operations is all about combat realism. Sucks to be you.Hand-carry guided missles like Stingers and Javelins to use against enemy aircract and armored vehicles. You will not find another game that will allow you to do what you can do in this game.Nova Logic got this one right, and in a HUGE way. Not even.
APCs. Jeeps. Nowhere to be found. In COD, you can't even walk in any directio for more than a minute before bumping into a very unrelaistic map limit barrier. Sick of playing "dumbed down" jousting matches of endless, boring "run and gun" because the developers have you locked into tiny little sardine can maps that don't allow for aircraft and vehicles. But if COD is all you play, you have no clue what this is like. Matter of fact, you can't even call in artillery until you make a certain rank. You should.
Dirt bikes. Nobody else has touched it since, including Nova Logic.Come see what you've been missing. COD. Yup - Joint Operations has them all, 100% pure user-controllable, including mounted guns. Don't you feel ripped off. WARNING: The following review is written by a total combat gaming snob who demands the best in online gameplay.Hey Call Of Duty fans:What's the point of having a sniper rifle if the enemy is always so close to you that you can just throw a grenade (or a rock).
Only in Joint Ops.Sick of playing COD and only being able to experience cool things in single-player mode, only to discover that none of it exists in multi-player mode. Change roles and weapons as you see fit and unleash absolute hell. You can hike up a mountain side and rain down some death with a sniper rifle like a real sniper actually can. Mounted guns on vehicles and aircraft. Such is the laughable world of COD and its sardine can maps.
COD. Oh, that's right - COD maxes out at 64. Get's a little crowded in there, doesn't it.Tanks. If Infinity Ward wanted to go for all out realism, they should make your voice echo like you're running around inside a gymnasium - because you are.Rank and Weapons: Every map starts out with everyone at the same ground level in rank. Gee, that's realistic, isn't it.
In Joint Ops, the maps have no borders - you can fly, ride, drive or run forever in any direction. No "old guard" elitist jerks with superior abilities and weapons to spoil the game. Nowhere to be found in COD. You actually paid for that game.Come play Joint Operations, the 5-year old game that STILL makes all versions of COD and Battlefield look like a joke. You should be.Map size, huge issue: imagine jumping on a dirt bike and going off into the distance and going "Evel Knievel" by jumping over hills for a while. The graphics aren't as good, but they are still worthy of praise. Nowhere to be found in COD, other than immovable "eye candy" objects to hide behind while your enemies "prairie dog" you.Calling your own artillery strikes by operating, aiming and firing the artillery yourself - Joint Ops has it.
Oh, that's right, you play COD or BF2, and you can't do that because you have to make a certain rank before you're allowed to touch certain weapons and commands. Yup, that too. Every weapon available in Joint Operatiosn is available to you during gameplay. You probably think snipers shoot their targets from just across the street. How about 200+ players online in the same map in all out full-scale warfare. You can do that in Joint Ops. But this is nowhere to be found in COD.Armored vehihles like tanks and APCS, all different types, too - Joint Ops is where its at. Aircraft.
Sorry, you're on foot, you brainless grunt.
I loved the day-night cycles, too. I remember the look on my friend's face when his wife would show up to take him home - like a kid who'd just been told there'd be no Christmas that year. Wow. Can't tell you how many hours I played this game. man. Yeah, it had some glitches and bugs, but the replayability factor was virtually limitless with the on-line multiplayer function (up to 120 players on 1 map)., map editor, and the endless maps that just went on and on and on. Just one game could last for hours and if the teams were balanced well, you'd find yourself almost sad when someone won.
I sure do miss those days - Friday night, wife out of town, a cold case of beer in the fridge, surround sound cranked up, my best bro would be over and we'd take turns, yelling and screaming,. Only problem now is finding servers, and then ones with enough players.
Only reason I stopped is because of the growing number of hacks and newer games that eventually came out (BF2) and took away most of the players. I recently fired up JO again recently after a few years of BF2, and it was still just as fun.
This has to be one of my top 3 all time favorite multi-player fps games of all times, hands down. My only gripe would be that the weapon sounds were not exactly convincing, and the code wasn't exactly optimized well, so that even a fast system had a hard time with it, but small prices to pay for something that fun.
Times have changed, but the memories shall live in my mind forever. Never a dull moment.
One of my favorite things to do was to grab a jeep, drive waaaaaaaaaaaaaay out, set up shop on the side of a hill, and start sniping.
Good Game but has its glitches.I have a hard time hiding and it seems the enemy comes out of no where to knock you off. Most difficult is the assault on the Island. The other games are not as hard to complete.I only play single player and have not tryed on line play at this time.I also think they could have added more missions in this game.
Sure AI is a little stupid, but how else can you down 160 enemies, just you and your buddy -oh, and blow up their radar stations while you're there. Playing this online against dozens of humans, or in co-op against AI missions, this game is just tons of fun, and very high quality.
you can drive a humvee jump out of a helicopter, yet if you do it just right you won't get chopped up into little pieces. I just want to let you know i think this is the funnest game, well not funnest but one of the funnest games. i just have the demo and i might get the game for my birthday or christmas.
